If...I agree that creative writing is a good choice. If you're not sold on teaching now and its not a Passion already, you may hate it. Haha. It is lessons, and lessons, and lessons. Which involve more than just, "today ill teach about the life cycle of a frog" haha. Anyways, that's my opinion too:) I was talking to a lady the other day who got her bachelors in math and masters in education. She teaches high school, has been teaching for five years and makes $55,000. So that was encouraging :)<br />Well I know you'll make the decision that is best for you, just please pick one that you are truly passionate about, because let's face it, you'll be doing it for a looooooong time! Someone once asked (when trying to pick a career path) "pick something that you would do for free." Would you teach without getting paid? Would you write creatively for free? Now if you are just getting a teaching certificate and zoom off you go to teach, then that is quick and a Masters can be pursued simultaneously. But I would definitely not get a Masters in teaching.... I understand it to be all about policy and administrative paperwork and lesson plans.... blah blah blah. All of which would drive you nuts I believe. However, the creative writing degree allows you to A- get the masters B- still get the salary increase (at least in GA) C- not take a BORING masters program and D- you will be more likely to be able to teach at a collegiate level (which in my mind's eye would be preferable) My opinion! Hey, you asked for it! :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07229484583813888055noreply@blogger.com
