Renovation Projects

Welcome! Welcome!

Step into our little nineteenth century brick rowhouse. You can put your shoes here and hang your coat there. Care for a tour?

Built in 1890, our home was badly in need of renovation when we purchased it in 2013. It had been the product of several misguided renovations that resulted in the butchery of many of its original features. Original hardwoods, original cabinets, original fireplace, original front door and transom--all gone. It seemed only the bad original things remained-- boiler, radiators, wiring-- you get the idea.

Yet somehow, when we walked through the front door that first day, I immediately felt at home here. Despite the ugly linoleum floors, wobbly ceiling fans, and dreadful vinyl siding. After touring the small brick home,  I turned to my husband Mark and said "I think this is the one."

Now, two years later, we've slowly transformed the shabby, neglected home into something that's uniquely our own. I've honestly lost count of the renovations we've done! But looking back at the "before" pictures and seeing the "after"... It just amazes me what some determination, paint, and elbow grease can do! And what's more... we did it all ourselves!

Our kitchen renovation was recently featured on Apartment Therapy!
